Weddings and Shows, Weddings and Shows!

It's been a pretty busy Spring for Glamourpuss Creations. I participated in the fantastic SoWa Open Market Opening Weekend http://www.southendopenmarket.com/ and the Providence Rock and Roll Yard Sale http://www.facebook.com/pages/Providence-Rock-And-Roll-Yard-Sale/111851928831840 with great success but most importantly - my little sister got married!

Offering to make the flower arrangements, I had a fabulous time picking just the blooms from Fifty Flowers http://www.fiftyflowers.com/ and a collecting vintage hobnail and milk glass vases to complete the look. It was a spectacular day for my whole family and the bride and groom couldn't have been more stunning.

Just finding time to work on some new pieces the past few days. The perfect combination of edgy and romantic has been inspiring me these days.

Know your fashion history....

What I love most about making vintage jewelry are the little histories that go along with each piece: a color, pattern or style that speaks of another era, given new life in a modern design.

Lots of fashion is informed by pop culture and, in the 60s, it was much the same. When I found these Egyptian Revival pendants, I was reminded that the style, which originated in the 1920s, was brought back by Elizabeth Taylor's epic 1963 performance in the film Cleopatra. Oh the sultry shades and luxurious fabrics!

Inspired by the rich colors and dramatic look of Cleopatra, my Siam Scroll Earrings will make you feel like a queen!

Glamourpuss joins the blogging world!

After *many* failed attempts at setting up a lovely blog, my little sis Amy (of ABCowls) gave a much needed hand and - voila!- here it is!

Winter is a great time to explore some new show opportunities and research the latest in social networking. I came across this great article on the 18 best social shopping sites here: http://mashable.com/2007/08/08/social-shopping-2/
Lots of great places to find and share the latest styles!

And, of course, thoughts of Spring are creeping slowly to mind. Here are some new pieces for the upcoming season I really loved making. Lots more to come!
